Forget the past:

LET IT GO!

Many years ago I read a book written by an adult about her teen-age years growing up in a very abusive alcoholic family. The only way she survived it was because she learned she couldn’t worry about what she couldn’t control.

Since reading her story I have applied the phrase “DON’T WORRY ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN’T CONTROL!  Many times in my life. IT isn’t always easy but it is helpful.

You can’t control people at your job. However, you can control getting to work on time, doing your best, and how you interact. Start there.

You can’t control your family. Love them, talk to them and if necessary use tough Love and don’t be part of what isn’t healthy for you.

Enjoy the present:

Get off the couch, get out of the house and enjoy living. Life doesn’t come knocking at your door and invite you out to play. You have to take charge of it. This is a New Year plan things you would like to do this year. Make a list check them off as you do them. It’s time for a new chapter in your book of life.

Finances: You can’t control the cost of things but you can control your spending. Pay in cash and only buy what you can afford. Pay your bills on time and avoid late fees. Stick ten percent of your check into a savings account for an emergency nest egg. Give 15 percent to you church and you will be surprised what comes back 10 fold.

WORK HARD: The devil’s tools are a lazy man. When you have too much free time you think about the wrong things that aren’t productive. You don’t let go of the past. Be Productive work, it’s okay to be tired, be proud of what you have done.  If you don’t like your job keep looking till you find another but don’t quit until you have one. Times are tough right now. IF you can’t find a job start a low expense business. Contract your services out. But set an example and work.

EXERCISE HARD: The body, mind and soul all need to stay in shape. Exercise is important not only for physical being but also for alertness of the mind. Physical exercise makes you feel better and mental exercise keeps you sharp. If you are going to play computer games use the games that challenge the sharpness of your mind. Make it a habit to go for a walk. Enjoy nature. Take a friend or family member. Have quality time. This is the beginning of the new you.

LOVE HARD: RELATIONSHIPS ARE HARD WORK:

LOVE FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.

It doesn’t matter if it’s family, friends, or someone you are in a relationship with you have to work at it. You have to have quality time, do things together on equal ground and be flexible. It doesn’t matter if you come home tired from work you still have to have time for that special someone in your life.  You also have to have time for those special pets that you have chosen to involve in your family. Plan, schedule time and make that time great. Work at loving hard and that love will come back to you.

INVEST IN YOURSELF:

If you don’t take care of yourself you can’t be good for anyone else. Start off by splurging. Get a hair cut, a new outfit, something special you’ve been wanting that will help your attitude. Maybe it’s exercise equipment.

Don’t settle for dollar store cologne, shampoo, etc. If it’s going on your body, buy the good stuff and cut back somewhere else. You deserve it.

Get up ever morning early and fix yourself up even if you aren’t going anywhere. When you look good you feel good.

If you have health issues keep looking for a doctor until you find one that meets your needs.

Set goals for work. Don’t always settle for just a job. Plan to improve yourself. Climb the ladder of success one step at a time.

Make a three-year plan: Finances, Home, work, vacation. Where do you want to be in three years?

Don’t just life for today or tomorrow will never happen. You have to plan for it.

LIKE YOURSELF:

If you don’t like something about yourself than change it. How can you expect others to like you if you don’t like yourself.

Enjoy spending time alone with yourself.

Get to know the real you.

You cannot improve your life until your understand who you are.

Satisfy the spiritual needs of your mind, body and soul.

Everyone needs to believe in something. Decide what you want in your life.

Feed your spirit with contentment.

Your body with peace and tranquility.

Your soul with acceptance.

If you are faith driven participate in your religion and find friendship, guidance and acceptance there.

This is the year for a new beginning in whatever direction you choose to go.

DON”T LOOK BACK!!!!

LAST YEAR IS GONE FOREVER.

Yes , it has changed you and every year coming will change you . It is up to you to take control of how those changes affect you.

May you have a very blessed HAPPY NEW YEAR WITH ALL THE BLESSINGS YOU DESERVE!!!!!

until next time:)
