January 2nd 2012

January is the first month of the year.

Here are some special times for you

  • National Bath Safety Month
  • National Braille Literacy Month
  • National Hobby Month
  • National Oatmeal Month
  • National Soup Month

Time for change is now here. What have you put on your list for this New Year.

January is a great month to start a new hobby. Decide if you like out doors or in door activities. If you don’t like the cold than this is a great time to pick an indoor hobby. Maybe you want to read those favorite books you haven’t gotten to.

How about taking time to read to your children or someone else.

Building models, working on crafts, doing jigsaw puzzles are wonderful hobbies.

How about building something useful in your home.

Then their are those talented painters, musicians, writers, January is a great time to get started on your next project, finish up left over projects and move on.

Photographers winter scenes create wonderful photos for your nature album.

How about taking a class at the local college.

January is a great time to be a home body and nurture yourself and your family.

This is not the time for moves, major changes such as jobs, etc.

However, it is a New Year full of new beginnings. Plan a vacation for the summer. Vacations take time for preparation and saving. Where would you like to go? Get information, post pictures around to keep you focused.

Make your dream board so you see it everyday.

Clean out the old things you don’t use and donate them to second hand stores.

Make room for those new items you got for Christmas.

Eliminate anything that you don’t use, don’t want, doesn’t fit.

Learn some new recipes. Take a cooking class for fun.

Share your favorite soup recipe with us.

Get a group of friends together for game night.

I use to love it when my mother had bridge club at our house. It meant I could sneak into the special candy she only bought for visitors.  I never learned to play bridge but I use to watch the ladies as they chit chatted and I could always sneaks some of their licorice mix goodies.

Have a family night and plan family activities.

Change your routine. Find the new you.

Remember there is a time for everything.

Know when to laugh, play, have fun, work, and be serious.

For today I am going to laugh, be lazy and not do much. It went from warm to freezing cold last night.

I didn’t sleep well and part of that is my cat’s fault. He paced and yowled during the night.

Today I will have a day to catch up with myself. Now who knows tomorrow what it might be.

But today I plan to stay warm, stay happy , and stay focused.

Those of you who got Bath supplies for Christmas make sure your Bathroom is safe. Use hand rails when needed, squid strips and watch out for those animals that get under your feet.

Make sure you have adequate lighting in your bathrooms.

If it’s cold where you are you might want to let the water drip to keep those pipes from freezing this month.

Don’t forget when you look better you feel better. Fix yourselve up for yourself. Put on some makeup fix that hair. Dress up and be queen of the house.

For you men you can do a new haircut, fix those clothes, look like a prince charming, and you will be treated like one.

Remember a New Year requires New things said also.

Compliment, be kind, pass it forward.

Make someone smile and your heart will be warmed.

Let go off last year and start a new. How you fill will even surprise you.

Until next time 🙂
