September 5th

Well it maybe a bright sunny morning but the nights have sure cooled off. There is a gentle breeze blowing. I am trying to come down with a normal cold. I never get a cold. I am going to have to out of desperation turn to the alcohol cabinet and have my Crown Royal with a caffeine drink. That always stops it. I am just about out of my Crown which I keep on hand just for this reason so I had better make one good drink tonight before I go to bed.

The changing of seasons is like the changing of a color guard. It is very precise and knows exactly what it is doing. However, the on lookers stand and watch in amazement as the scenery around them changes with bright colors, and a chill in the air.  They are left guessing if there will still be some warm days or if winter is quickly headed our way.

This year has been so strange it is going to be hard to say and with everything a month ahead of itself does that mean that winter will also be a month ahead of itself?

How does one plan for seasons as the global weather starts to deceitfully play it’s games on us and alters what we have become so accustomed to?

I am afraid that this year one will just have to have winter clothes out and be ready for any surprises that may come their way.

Let’s all pray for the people who were affected by Hurricane Isaac. One high school in Louisiana has no idea when it will be able to open as it sits like an island surrounded by water and is flooded inside. Let’s hope that those high school students will soon be able to return to school.

Let’s pray that winter doesn’t move in before those hit the hardest by Isaac are able to find their way home once again.

Prayers go out to all in need whether it is because of the floods, hurricanes, storms, unemployment or tragedies in their lives. Let us help the homeless, the foodless, and the jobless.

This is a time our nation’s history when we need to reach out to people.  If you have a job give it to someone in need. If you have extra food share it, if you can help at a shelter do so or provide blankets for those in need.

Let us all learn to pass it forward this year. This should be a year about caring for one’s neighbors. 🙂

Let’s put a smile on someone’s face each day that we walk this great land of ours. 🙂

Now let’s see what today brings for the National Days events.

National Days:

Cheese Pizza Day

National Cheese Pizza Day

Today is National Cheese Pizza Day! Did you know that Americans eat approximately 350 slices of pizza per second? Whether you prefer thin crust, deep dish, or regular style, today’s the day to celebrate one of the most popular meals in the country. In the 1800s, most Italians thought of pizza as a peasant meal. That changed when a baker named Raffaele Esposito created a margarita pizza for visiting royalty. The king and queen were impressed by the colors of the Italian flag represented by the pizza’s white mozzarella cheese, red tomato sauce, and green basil. Pizza became fashionable overnight and was soon a staple in restaurants all across the country.

Today, there are hundreds of different pizza types and toppings, but they all originated with the classic cheese pizza. To celebrate National Cheese Pizza Day, head to your favorite pizza place or make your own homemade pizza for dinner tonight. Enjoy!

Be Late For Something Day encourages you to take a step back from your schedule and intentionally be late for something – remember that things can go on without you, and maybe it’s not all quite as important as you thought; after all, you need some ‘me time’!

Today is a day to re-evaluate what is important in your life whether it is helping your child get off to a good start at school, taking time for breakfast, or just clearing one’s head before the pressures of the day begin.

Often times we just go with the pressures of society and try to do it all forgetting what is truly important to ones self being.

Today is the day for you to slow down , don’t worry, you will get where you need to be. Enjoy the day at a slower pace taking time to observe what’s around you.

So today is a day about leading the simple life. Slow down take time for yourself enjoy a Cheese Pizza and don’t worry. Everything will wait for you.

Take time to enjoy your family along the way and learn about their new fall routine whether it be school or a new job.

Maybe today is a day you want to take a stroll through the park and watch the animals preparing for the fall.

Whatever don’t take things too serious today. 🙂

So until next time 🙂
