Poetry

I hope as you visit you enjoy the poetry section. I try to keep it updated around holidays and put inspirational poems in when I remember to.

Please everyone take a moment to read “A Hard Working Man.”

I saw this picture on Facebook the other day, posted by a friend of mine, and I fell in love with the picture. I had just been writing about Independence Day when I ran acrossed it and he reminded me of what this country is all about.

I took a few minutes questioning her about him and got what information I could and proceeded in a hurry to jot off this poem.

It was a kind act and greatly appreciated. Her father Neal is 84 years old and facing some health issues. Of course, as a daughter you worry. However, at his age he worries too. Growing older is not easy.

My friend emailed me back telling me that she was having a difficult time with her father’s health issues and that my words had lifted her spirits.

Next time you hear someone say that Poetry is dead, remind them that only the failure to read it , write, or pass it on is the action that is dead. Poetry is very much alive.

Please come back often and leave me your comments.
